The Easter season culminates on Pentecost Sunday, May 19th, 2024. Christians have prepared for Pentecost for over 2000 years by joining together for 9 days of prayer. This first Novena was instituted when Jesus instructed the Apostles, “And I myself will send upon you what my Father has promised. But you must wait in the city until the power from above comes down upon you” (Luke 23: 49). As we prepare for the Solemnity of Pentecost, we invite you to pray this novena for the intentions of the Archdiocese.
Begin each day by making the Sign of the Cross then recite the prayer for the day. After this prayer, recite the following:
Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and enkindle in them the fire of Your love. Pour forth Your Spirit and we shall be created, and You shall renew the face of the earth.
Glory be to the Father, to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit as it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end, Amen.
