Hospital and Nursing Home Visitations (for all forms of Pastoral Care)
Ministry to the Deaf in the Archdiocese is a far-reaching ministry that includes the entire family - deaf, hard of hearing, deafened, and hearing, family members.
Pastoral and social service to this linguistic minority is provided through Pastoral Care Worker Alanna McDonald and a new assistant Maureen MacKinnon. Their work is dedicated to the preservation of "Deaf Culture" within the Catholic community.
Sacramental preparation, advocacy, monthly luncheons, hospital and nursing home visitations (all forms of Pastoral Care) are part of the ministry. Their ministry meets needs on an ecumenical basis when invited to do so.
